For the 2014 holiday season, I have decided to get back into making spun cotton Christmas ornaments again. They have been selling as fast I can make them, so all the ornaments pictured here are sold. More friends will join them in the coming weeks and months, and I plan to make spun cotton ornaments for more of the holidays in 2015 as well. If you would like to be added to my list of people to notify when new spun cotton ornaments are listed, please e-mail me at info@oldworldprimitives.com.

Halloween Spun Cotton Ornaments 2013
As some of you know, I made a big move from New Jersey to the beautiful Teton Valley of Idaho in the nothern Rockies last month – and I am absolutely loving my new home. Now that we are all unpacked and settled into our new home, I am getting started on my holiday 2013 line of spun cotton ornaments. These two witches are are the first in the Halloween collection for this year.
Next I will be working on creating some patterns for my doll designs, as promised – stay tuned! I have a new Halloween doll in the works too.
Holiday 2012 Ornament Collection
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Old World Primitives this week! I have added a new collection of spun cotton ornaments for the holidays, including a wolf, a deer, a fox, an angel, and three different cats. A new set of chenille Christmas cat ornaments are available as well. Stop by for a visit to see what’s new!
Decorating with Spun Cotton Ornaments
The lovely Michele Bodani of Persimmon Grove Designs, who is one of my very best customers, recently shared some photographs with me of how she has been incorporating my spun cotton ornaments into her home decor. I am happy that she agreed to let me also post her photos here, and hope that my blog readers will enjoy them as much as I did! May her wonderful sense of style and color coordination inspire you.

Work in Progress Wednesday – Spun Cotton Ornaments
I snapped this photo of my work table earlier this week when I was working on a group of spun cotton rabbit and cat ornaments. Dressing each one and bringing them to life is the most fun part – and the most challenging. Tweezers and stick pins help me along with the application of tiny details.
And here are some springy friends all finished:
Work in Progress Wednesday – Spun Cotton Fox Ornament
Today a new fox spun cotton ornament is coming to life on my work table. She is a custom order. We are picking out clothing and a bundle of dried flowers for her to carry with her on her merry way.
Spun Cotton Fox and Rabbit Ornaments for Spring
Happy Valentine’s Day! There are just five more weeks of winter left – and the bunnies are multiplying here at Old World Primitives in anticipation of spring. They have a woodland fox friend in springy colors keeping them company too.

Spun Cotton Valentine Ornaments – Handmade Primitive Valentine Decor
This week I have begun releasing my newest designs for 2012, starting with a collection of spun cotton Valentine ornaments. Each of the ornaments below is a handmade original design by Old World Primitives.
These spun cotton ornaments are dressed in festive shades of pink and red for Valentine’s Day – or any day of the year.
Halloween Spun Cotton Ornaments
The ornaments pictured above are my newest spun cotton and spun glass designs for the 2011 holiday season. I am now working on another batch of Halloween primitive dolls – a black cat, a witch cat, and a witchy moon. More spun cotton Halloween ornaments will be added next week, and perhaps a Halloween paper doll or two.
Back to Work
One of the greatest things about being my own boss is that I can have cause to make two vacation posts on my blog in a row. After being back home from my Yellowstone trip for a little over a week and spending that time working on some new creations, prepping to improve some of the older photos in my Etsy shop (which I hope to complete this week), and planning for Halloween and Christmas (I know, it’s early – but I promised myself it had to be done earlier this year!)… I was lucky enough to be able to leave for another vacation to California, where my husband spent two weeks road tripping, camping and hiking our way through Yosemite, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks.
Below are some of my photos from our travels. My husband has also added a bunch more (even better!) photos to his Etsy photography print shop, Max Gorski Photography.
I also have two new spun cotton ornament designs to share – two kitties in fall friendly colors. The second one is the first of my Halloween 2011 designs – many more to follow!
